HOW TO CARE

  • Airing the insert by line drying or placing in the sun will help maintain its integrity and durability.
  • We recommend spot cleaning any marks. Avoid full washing, as Kapok fibres are best kept dry.
  • A light fluff often will help fibres stay evenly distributed and maintains that soft, supportive loft over time.

Kapok fibres are naturally resistant to moisture and dust mites.

We’ve created a pillow filled with biodegradable natural kapok fibre and encased in 100% organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard. Naturally allergy safe, asthma and sensitive skin friendly, it offers soft, breathable comfort for a restful night’s sleep.

INGREDIENTS
Organic Cotton

We start at the source: our cotton seeds are organic, not GMOs, and our farm partners rely exclusively on non-toxic resources to qualify as 100% organic.
Rain water

We use harvested monsoon rain water throughout the entire seed to shelf journey to avoid wasting this precious natural resource.
DYES

We use non toxic GOTS certified dyes. All our prints and fabrics are dyed using water based dyes free of ammonia, formaldehyde, chlorine bleach and toxic heavy metals.

Potato starch

Instead of using harsh toxic chemicals during production and finishing, we use potato starch to coat the threads which strengthens and prevents breakdown.
Neem

Using age old traditional farming practices we use Neem as an organic pest and fungal control for our crops instead of toxic insecticides or pesticides.
Marigold

We work with nature to protect the land by using innovative natural pest control methods and the power of the humble marigold.
Solar Power

We use the power of the sun. Our mills harness the suns energy with on site solar plants.

WHERE DOES BHUMI SOURCE ORGANIC COTTON FROM?

Currently Bhumi sources all of its organic cotton from India (and organic Linen from Belgium). India has one of the longest and respected textile traditions in the world, which means it provides us access to some of the highest quality production facilities in the world that comply with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Soil Association requirements.
