Can I make a change to my order?

Unfortunately we may be unable to cancel or make any changes (including address changes, changes to colours and/or sizes and adding or removing items) to any orders after your order is placed. This is due to our 3rd party fulfilment centre typically processing the items for your order shortly after the order being received.

However once your order is received, we can organise a return if still required. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Is my item In Stock or on Preorder?

When selecting your products to add to cart, unless your item has PREORDER NOW, the item is in stock and ready to dispatch within 3 business days.

Preorders allow you to secure new and back in stock items ahead of time (so you don't miss out). For preorders you will be shown the shipping date to expect your ordered item to arrive with you.

Please note delivery times for preorders may sometimes vary by 2 - 4 weeks from the anticipated delivery date.

How will I know if an item I would like to purchase is ‘Out Of Stock’?

If an item is out of stock it will state OUT OF STOCK at the time of adding the item to your cart. You can select the EMAIL ME WHEN AVAILABLE to receive notification once this item returns to stock, or as always email us at help@bhumi.com.au if you would like to enquire further about an Out of Stock item and ask about future availability of the item.

How do you wrap and ship orders?

At Bhumi we believe in less is more. We've removed all unnecessary packaging and with our boxes, that lovingly go out to you, we use recycled boxes, eco friendly ink and plastic free tape.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Unfortunately at this time we are unable to offer this, this is due to limitations at our Fulfilment Centre. Thank you for understanding.

But don't worry, we do not add any order invoices or reference to pricing within our parcels.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES
What is your return policy?

Bhumi takes a lot of pride in offering you quality products that are ethically made from certified organic cotton. However, for some reason if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, or require different sizing options, you can submit a return within 30 days of receiving the goods for either an exchange, a store credit, or a refund.

Please note: there is no refund on items purchased during sales or last chance, although we can offer a store credit or exchange.

Items must be returned in their original condition. Any washed, worn or altered products will deem your return invalid.

We would greatly appreciate, before unfolding/using/washing Bedding items, to make sure you are 100% satisfied with the Bedding chosen - our Bedding is packaged in their own matching Bhumi Bedding Bag (with a tag at the side) to allow you to see the size, colour and fabric feel.

For items purchased at our Byron Bay or Collingwood stores, returns and exchanges can be organised either directly at the store purchased, or reach out to us at help@bhumi.com.au and we will organise a pre-paid returns label for you to post your items to our Returns Dept. Note: Please bring a copy of your order confirmation email as proof of purchase.

For items purchased online, these cannot be returned in our Byron Bay or Collingwood stores. Reach out to us at help@bhumi.com.au and once your Return is approved you will receive a pre-paid returns label (Aus postage only) to download. The label can be printed and attached to your parcel to drop it off at your post office. Or your Post Office can also scan the attachment and print it for you that way, just show the label on your phone / tablet at the post office.

PLEASE NOTE:

- If you are returning a Set (eg Quilt Cover Set, Sheet Set or PJ Set) or 2 Pack (eg Underwear, Baby Blankets) all items in the Set/Pair must be returned together in their original condition.

- If you are returning items purchased as part of a Bundle (or a 3 Pack or 6 Pack), individual items within the bundle may be returned for an exchange or store credit. Refund is only available where the entire Bundle is returned in their original condition.

- Items gifted within a Free Gift with Purchase offer are not eligible for a return. If any of the item/s purchased to receive this free gift are returned, then the Free Gift must also be returned in their original condition.

WASH & CARE TIPS
Do I need to wash my Bhumi products before use?

Feel free to use all Bhumi products straight away. As we use no chemicals, you do not need to wash before use.

However with our Linen Bedding, to assist with the settling in process we recommend you put them through a cold wash first.

See our Wash & Care Guide on specific fabrics and products here.

How do I wash and care for my Bhumi Products?

All Bhumi products are easy to care for. We recommend washing colours separately using cold/warm water gentle wash cycle and to line dry. The use of bleaching agents may damage the colours, so we don’t recommend using any bleaching agents.

See our Wash & Care Guide on specific fabrics and products here.

ABOUT BHUMI
What is the inspiration behind the name Bhumi?

Bhumi means ‘Mother Earth’ in Sanskrit. Protecting and giving back to the world we live in is an integral part of Bhumi, therefore we chose Bhumi as the name of our company.

Our mission is to be the home for sustainable bedding, bath and clothing that reflect the natural beauty around us and provides the building blocks for greening your life and home.

At Bhumi, everything we offer is designed to comfort, nurture, revive and sustain - to help you turn your home into a blissful sanctuary. All of our products are designed with respect for the Earth and sustainable design and manufacturing practices.

From where does Bhumi source organic cotton? And why?

Currently Bhumi sources all of its organic cotton from India (and organic Linen from Belgium). India, along with Turkey, is among the largest organic cotton producers in the world. For our required quality, volume and scale, we have chosen India as the destination to import organic cotton. India has one of the longest and respected textile traditions in the world, which means it provides us access to some of the highest quality production facilities in the world that comply with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Soil Association requirements.

Not only does organic cotton have a low environmental impact, but also it is also soft, gentle and durable than standard cotton making it a natural choice for all our products.

Choosing organic cotton brings the intrinsic beauty of nature into your home without the presence of any nasties (toxic chemicals, GMO, etc.) and allows you to enjoy the purest form of cotton as nature intended it to be … also knowing it was ethically made in adherence to the strictest environmental standards from seed to shelf.

Watch our Seed to Shelf process video here

What are the benefits of organic cotton?

Organic cotton is produced without the use of harmful chemicals, insecticides and pesticides. It does not use genetically modified seeds, nor does it use any toxic dyes, bleaches or finishes. Overall, this results in organic cotton having a low environmental impact and is also soft, gentle and more durable than standard cotton.

To put the environmental impact in a little bit of perspective, regular cotton accounts for roughly up to 25% of global insecticide releases, out of which a lot is classified hazardous by the World Health Organisation - organic cotton uses no hazardous insecticides or pesticides.

Following are the 5 key benefits of certified organic cotton production for the planet

  1.  Give control to farmers, not GM companies - Organic farmers don't have their choices controlled by GM companies
  2.  Eliminate hazardous synthetic pesticides - Organic cotton doesn't use dangerous pesticides, protecting farmers' lives and the environment
  3.  Help farmers feed their families - Organic cotton enables farmers to grow other crops for food and income
  4.  Save precious water - Organic cotton uses less water, preserving a scarce and precious resource for the future
  5.  Combat climate change - Organic cotton farming uses less energy and healthy organic soils store more carbon.

What does Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) mean?

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised as the leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres worldwide. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire supply chain of organic textiles and requires compliance with social criteria as well. Independent third party certification is required for the whole supply chain. It enables legitimate ‘organic’ claims to be made on final products.

The International Working Group on Global Organic Textile Standard is comprised of four reputed member organisations, namely OTA (USA), IVN (Germany), Soil Association (UK) and JOCA (Japan), which contribute to the GOTS, together with further international stakeholder organisations and experts, their respective expertise in organic farming and environmentally and socially responsible textile processing.

Why does Bhumi Support Fairtrade cotton?

Fairtrade ensures a respect for the social, economic and labour rights of farmers and workers along the entire supply chain. It encourages sustainable farming practices, protects the environment and improves the quality of health and well being for farmers and workers.

Fairtrade enables the funding of community projects - the building of schools, health clinics, the building of wells for access to clean water, and education and training in business and agriculture.

By supporting fairtrade practices, Bhumi ensures a respect for the social and economic rights of the entire supply chain, including the farmers that are behind each product.

Are all Bhumi purchases Carbon Neutral and how do we know this?

Yes, Bhumi strives to minimize the carbon emissions required to make and transport our products. For unavoidable emissions, we invest in projects that reduce global carbon emissions and reverse the effect of climate change.

You will receive your carbon neutral certificate after every purchase made. You can learn more information about your purchase via your certificate emailed.

Are all Bhumi products vegan?

Yes - all our products are 100% vegan. We do not use or support the use of any animal products from "harvest to shelf". We believe in compassion to all sentient beings.

OUR PRODUCTS
What products does Bhumi sell?

Here at Bhumi, we provide 100% organic Bedding, Bath, Sleepwear and Apparel - including Underwear and Basics, in a range of Adults and Children sizing.

Bedding is as per Australian sizing, and can be purchased as Sets, Separates, or Bundles.

What is thread count? Should it affect my buying decision?

Thread count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads in 1 square inch of woven cotton. Contrary to popular belief, higher thread count doesn’t necessarily translate into higher quality – the quality of the product depends directly on the weaving process and the quality of the yarn used.

Apart from the marketing 'gimmicks' (creative counting or double counting of threads), this concept may sometimes be confusing for consumers - the analogy we like to use to illustrate this point is of healthy vs. unhealthy hair. 50 strands of unhealthy hair or 100 strands of unhealthy hair is still considered unhealthy hair. More strands of unhealthy hair do not improve the underlying hair quality. The same is true for cotton and thread count.

Simply put -

1. We don’t recommend paying more dollars just for higher thread count

and

2. Make sure you are not falling into the marketing 'gimmicks' of thread count

You can read more in our Blog: Thread Count: What Is It and What Is the Best Thread Count for Sheets?

Note: The weight or thread count of our products can be found on individual product pages.

Also, all our products, including the dyes are formaldehyde free and are finished in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS).
