Balance Tip - Listen to the sound of [SILENCE]

Silence. Such a powerful and eloquent state. We all need to disconnect and unplug. Our lives are filled with noises, distractions, thoughts that need to at times be stilled to find a sense of balance, peace, stillness, and solitude. It is in the quiet, it is in the solitude, and it is in the silence, that you truly begin to feel the calm, the stillness, the peace and the sacredness of space.

Balance Tip for the Week

Lighting candles in a space unique to you is a powerful way to embrace the sound of silence. It is a time to tune into your breath, practice being still and open up to the art of listening deeply. As Rumi says, “There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen..”

Allow the area to be dark and set a candle at your eye level. Allow your body to relax and be comfortable. Thoughts will come into your mind allow them to be there don’t resist them. Allow them to enter and then allow them to float away like clouds. Focus on the flicker of the flame. Find tranquility in the flame. Concentrate on the energy the flame exudes. Find the quiet restorative power the flame holds. Find the strength in the flame.

Breathe in these feelings of tranquility, energy, power, strength, silence and peace. Refocus your energy and embrace the feeling of listening to the sound of silence.
